Back in 2019, the team here at CCL hosted our first BuildOn Expo, a free builders trade show featuring a one of a kind Builders Training Builders experience. The event was a huge success, with around 500 builders forging new connections, growing their business knowledge, and learning from the industry’s leading manufacturers.

Meet Our Presenters

Shawn Van Dyke

Shawn Van Dyke is an expert in the construction business. In addition to two engineering degrees, Dyke has run a series of successful businesses, including a speciality construction company of which he became the COO in 2013. From his experience and success, Dyke has gone on to become an author, professional speaker, and business coach, all focused on helping contractors around the world build the systems they need for purposeful, profitable growth.

The Modern Craftsman

The Modern Craftsman is a podcast hosted by Tyler Grace and Nick Schiffer. As contractors, craftsmen, and business owners themselves, they focus each episode on the challenges and successes of the real-world experience in the field. Their podcast features interviews with professional craftsmen such as Norm Abrams, Gary Katz, Tom Silva, and more.

Gary Striegler

Gary Striegler has over 45 years of experience as a home builder and is the owner of Craftsman Builders, a company specializing in millwork and interior details. In addition to his teaching role at Indiana’s Marc Adams School of Woodworking, he’s also a contributor to a variety of publications, including Fine Homebuilding. 

Married with a Business

Married with a Business features Allison and Craig, husband and wife and owners of Almar Building and Remodeling. Almar is a family-owned business, which has been in operation for over 60 years. Almar primarily focuses on residential remodels within the South Shore, where they are located just minutes away from CCL.

Mike Guertin

Mike Guertin  is a home builder and remodeler located in East Greenwich, RI. Having been in the industry for 40 years, he has a strong passion for finding new ways to build things better and for educating others once he does. He’s a contributor to many publications, including Fine Homebuilding, plus a variety of books, articles, videos, and more.
